Its waterproof, chemical-resistant anodized aircraft aluminum body; high-impact engineering polymer LED housing; and high-temperature, shock-mounted impact resistant Borofloat glass lens will stand up to intense heat, extreme weather, and all the physical punishment your fire scene, rescue operation, or work environment can deliver. Guaranteed.
C4 LED—almost 3 times brighter than High Flux LEDs. It’s a huge upgrade over second generation LED technology. In fact the Streamlight C4 premium LED is 7 to 10 times brighter than the first generation LEDs still used in many flashlights today; and they consume far less energy. The result is a blinding light, far more powerful than any LED before it—with the extended runtime so critical in an unpredictable fire or rescue situation.
And because it’s impervious to shock, the primary LED will not break or burn out over its 50,000 hour lifetime. An ultra-bright blue safety taillight LED lets your partners see you when they're following, or searching, even in a smoke-filled room.
Convenient, long-lived lithium batteries can be changed in seconds. Like the Streamlight Tactical Weapon Lights it’s based on, the Vantage uses two small, lightweight, 3-volt CR123 lithium batteries to power both the main light and an ultra-bright blue taillight LED. You can carry a set of spares in any pocket.
The back of the Vantage can be opened, the batteries changed, and snapped back on again in under 30 seconds, without taking the light off the helmet. And because the lithium batteries have a storage life over 10 years, and are not affected by extreme temperatures, they provide a convenient and extremely reliable source of power.

Money well spent so far!
This is a really light weight bright light! I haven't had any issues with it and I have had it about 6 months and it gets used often. If it lasts a couple of years it will be well worth the money!
Its good on my helmet
Not cheap but it's worth it
I've had this since it came out. Doesn't take up a lot of space. If you wear ESS-type goggles on your helmet, the strap gets hung up on the light. The only real drawback I notice is that the set screw will dig into the brim of your leather helmet and then won't stay tight. Fixed this by putting a dime between the screw and brim
Useful and great
I use it at fire and rescue work its light wight and make your hands free for make the job done
I bought this gift for my firefighter husband. He absolutely loves it. It was shipped faster than expected which was great.
Very happy with this light
Easy to turn on and off even with gloves. Very bright in all situations. The mount attaches to the helmet easily and stays secure.
Great Bright light
I have used this Light a few Times already really bright. It comes in handy not just Within a structure fire but even outside around the scene doing technical Things.
So far 8 years and still going
I got this light about 8 or so years ago. It's bright and stays in place. Big fan of the rear LED. A handful of guys at work have this light to. Mine has been in a handful of good workers and plenty of weather exposure. It's durbale and strong. Last year I had an issue with the light not turning on right away. I sent it to streamlight and about 3 weeks later I had a brand new light basically. I think the only original part was the shell. All new internal wiring and replaced both LEDs and all reflective decals. I'll always stick with streamlight if after 7 years of abuse they still stand by their product and take care of their customers. A little pricey for a small light, but if you only have to buy it once, that's worth it.
"Would you give a price break on bulk shipment? If you do, would you list the prices with quantity. Thank you. Bill"
Hi Bill, Yes we'll give you a price break on bulk orders. Send an e-mail to email@example.com listing the item and quantity you are interested in.
"i would like to know if this light fits the 1044 model helmets"
Yes it will
"What kind of price can I get if I were to buy 30 of these lights?"
A quote was sent to the Breese Fire District on 12/10 attn. the chief. Quote # 122260, any questions call me @ 800.852.6088 X1162
"Does this light meet NFPA Standards for firefighting protective equipment. In other words, does NFPA allow this to be mounted on a helmet? Thanks!"
Hi Mike, I asked Streamlight directly and this is what they said: ""The Streamlight Vantage Helmet Light is designed to be worn on a wide variety of structural fire fighting helmets from different manufacturers. We are pleased that the Vantage is currently used by many thousands of firefighters and emergency response personnel around the world with no reported safety issues. The Vantage Helmet Light, when mounted correctly, does not alter the performance characteristics or structural integrity of structural firefighting helmets and does not require any mechanical modifications to the helmet for installation and use. In addition, as an added degree of safety, the Vantage Helmet Light has been tested to the same stringent temperature standards, that the NFPA guidelines require of structural firefighting helmets as spelled out in NFPA 1971-8.6 (2007). While not a test that is required of lighting tools, it is advantageous to have a dedicated helmet light meet the same temperature performance standards as a structural firefighting helmet. To answer your question directly, we are not aware of any NFPA standard that governs lighting, but I hope the information above gives you comfort as you consider the Vantage for helmet mounted lighting needs.""
"The YouTube video says that it is 80 lumens but it's advertised on the website as 100 lumens. Which is it?"
Hi Roscoe. Since the video was produced, Streamlight improved the output of the light. It was originally 80 lumen but it is now 100 lumen..
"What type of battery does this light use?"
It uses CR123 lithium batteries.
"Will this light/mount work well with a 1044 equipped with the defender visor?"
Yes, it fits well.
"is this item damaging to install"
By damaging are you asking if it will damage your helmet? Not unless you turn the screw part that attachs the unit to your helmet so tight that it digs into the helmet itself
"Will this light bracket fit over the Paul Conway American Heritage band that wraps around the brim of the helmet?"
Yes it will
"can i put it on my leather helmet with out damaging it?"
Butch on Feb 4, 2013 - By damaging are you asking if it will damage your helmet? Not unless you turn the screw part that attaches the unit to your helmet so tight that it digs into the helmet itself, you tighten down on that screw it will leave a mark on your helmet, if you call that damage than yes it will. There is no need to tighten it so tight that it digs into your helmet.
"can rechargeable RCR123A be used in this Streamlight?"
I checked with Streamlight on this question. Here is what they said: ""We do not recommend the use of rechargeable batteries in our products that are not designed as rechargeable. Often voltage variations can occur in rechargeable cells and damage the electronics in the light.""
"Does this light fit on a phenix first due helmet"
Robert, it should, I can't see any reason it wouldn't, you might have to mount on the bottom of the helmet depending on what you are using for eye protection. Looks like if you have goggles it would not be able to mount it on the top, thus the bottom mount.
"Is this light available for shipping immediately?"
Hi Tara. Yes, they are in stock and ready to ship.
"For the blue tail light. It looks like it's a cover. All the pictures I look at online of the Vantage, it looks like a lens. Mine looks like a cover. I'm afraid to try and mess with it. Is it the new way they are making it or is that a cover?"
Bill did you try to press on it to see if it lights up blue? Press it if the blue LED doesn't come on there's something wrong, this light is built to be mounted on a weapon so it's going to a lot of punishment, and Streamlight has a great warranty! Try it first, then we can worry if it doesn't work, we've sold thousands of these with no problems.
"Is it intrinsically safe"
The Vantage is not intrinsically safe. A good option for an intrinsically safe helmet light would be the 3AA Haz-Lo Helmet Lighting kit, part number 68270.
"is this a non spark emitting flashlight?"
The Vantage is not intrinsically safe. A good option for an intrinsically safe helmet light would be the 3AA Haz-Lo Helmet Lighting kit, part number 68270. use this
"My son is a firefighter and he really likes the Vantage I bought for him. He said that sometimes in a smoky fire he would like to turn off the front beam but keep the very visible rear blue beacon on for safety. I know that the front and rear lights are operated by the same switch, so we thought that we'd like to find a blue plastic cover to put over the front beam, giving him a front-and-rear blue beacon in such situations. Have you any suggestions apart from continuing to try to fit plastic bottle tops and such? Thanks in advance for your consideration and for your many fine products! We're Streamlight believers."
Hey Mark. I contacted Streamlight about your question. Their answer is interesting. The Vantage is built using the body of one of their weapon lights. They make filters fo the weapon lights and confirmed the filters will fit on the Vantage. The filters haven't been tested in a high heat environment though. Here's a link to the filters, which we sell on our LE focussed website: http://www.officerstore.com/store/product.aspx/productId/13817/Streamlight-Weapon-Light-Flip-Up-Filter-for-TLR-and-M-Series-Lights/
"Can the light be taken off the mount?"
Short answer is no, it can't, it's on a swivel, but you can't remove it from the blanket.
"What is the Lumen output for this light? I found this same exact light on another website and there saying it only has an 80 lumen output, but here it says 115."
Hi Fluffy. Streamlight upgraged the lumen output for this light over a year ago. If another site is advertising it as 80 lumen, they either have very old stock, or maybe they just don't update their website.
"My light has what looks like a cover over the blue light where others have a clear lens and are brighter. Can the cover be removed?"
Hi, how old is your light? They are suppose to have a blue tail light, but we don't see anything like what you are talking about. Can you send us a picture of this maybe of a couple different angles so we can explore this a little better? use this email address firstname.lastname@example.org
