A higher level of holster safety, simplified. The innovative Self Locking System (SLS) of the model 6280 features a patented rotating hood design without a snap that secures your weapon in the holster more effectively than a traditional thumb-break retention system can. 

Drawing your weapon is quick and efficient thanks to its mid-ride position, which also offers an added level of protection against takeaways. Simply push down on the hood and rotate forward as you grasp the weapon – a natural motion that takes no more time than if unsnapping the holster instead.

Re-holstering is faster and far easier than with a thumb-break holster: Just pull back on the hood and the SLS system locks itself – all done with one hand.

Equipped with a Sentry and Hood Guard, the model 6280 is a Level III Retention Holster with a top draw and straight drop cant, which allow for an easy, familiar draw – popular features with both major police departments and individual officers.

Safariland’s rigid Universal Belt Loop anchors the holster and stabilizes it on the duty belt with hardened aerospace fasteners. The holster and belt form a single unit, keeping the 6280 firmly in place as the weapon is drawn.
