Every bit as popular today as it was when originally released in 1974, CMI's NFPA Rescue 8 Descender is crafted of a 6061-T6 aluminum alloy that maximizes the descender's strength-to-weight ratio. The descender is then hard-coat anodized to extend its useful working life. Though not NFPA certified, this descender exceeds tests for the national fire protection association standard on fire service life safety rope and system components (NFPA 1983-2006 edition). Versatile and easy to use, CMI's NFPA Rescue 8 Descender is excellent for the casual climber or rappeller.
