The new C4 LED—almost 3 times brighter than High Flux LEDs. It's a huge upgrade over even 2nd generation LED technology. In fact the Streamlight C4 premium LED is 7 to 10 times brighter than the first generation LEDs still used in many firefighting flashlights. Yet the new C4 LEDs consume far less energy. So even with a single, very compact power cell, it can deliver a blinding light, far more powerful than any LED before it—with the long runtime so critical in an unpredictable tactical situation. And because it's impervious to shock, the primary LED will not break or burn out over its 50,000 hour lifetime.
90 Lumens of precisely formed light for over an hour. The advanced C4 LED is perfectly matched to a Streamlight-engineered textured parabolic reflector with C4 Photonic Crystal technology to produce a smooth, approximately 90-lumen beam designed especially for weapon-mounted tactical use with a tight, concentrated hotspot and optimum peripheral illumination. A microcontroller regulates power, delivering over an hour of continuous runtime at 95% of full brightness before power falls off. Then you get another half hour of diminishing light to a 10% output level, bright enough to provide useful light for navigation, back-up, and non-critical situations.
Uses a single CR2 lithium battery, changeable in seconds. Like the larger two-cell Streamlight Tactical Weapon Lights it's based on, the compact TLR-3 uses just one small 3-volt CR2 lithium battery only 1" long and 9/16" in diameter You can carry a couple spares in any pocket. The light can be snapped off the weapon, opened, the batteries changed, and snapped back on again in under a minute. And because the lithium batteries have a storage life over 10 years, and are not affected by extreme temperatures, they provide a ready, extremely reliable source of power.
