Why the TASER®
C2 Brand is not recommended Law Enforcement
As a law enforcement
individual or agency you may have some interest in the C2 as a less
expensive alternative to the LE model. The following list should help
you understand exactly what you are giving up with the C2 and why
it doesn't make sense for law enforcement to carry them. This list
is not all inclusive, but lists some of the more obvious issues that
you should be aware of.
1. Limited to 15-foot cartridges
2. Cannot use XP cartridges
3. No data download capability
4. No TASER® CAM capability
5. No method for carrying an extra cartridge on
the device
6. Lower pulse rate than LE models
7. A 30-second cycle could prove problematic from
a reasonable use of force perspective for law enforcement
8. Not ergonomically correct for a tactical situation.
The unique shape and functionality of the C2 would require substantial
training for police officers to be proficient, as opposed to the
natural point and shoot (handgun) design of the M/X 26
9. No fixed sights. The only way to aim is with
the laser
10. The current law enforcement training programs
are not applicable to the C2 and there are no plans to create a
C2 LE course.
